The gynaecological check-up: will consist of a detailed medical history indicating the reason for her visit and providing family, personal, gynaecological and obstetric history. It is always useful to have a thorough history of the patient.
Gynaecological examination: Complete examination, examining the vulva, vagina and cervix. For the study of the latter, we use the colposcope and assess its appearance using Lugol stain.
Cytology: We perform a triple cervico-vaginal cytology for hormonal, microbiological and morphological assessment of the cells of the cervix, endocervical canal and vaginal fundus.
Early diagnosis of cervical cancer: After performing a cervical vaginal cytology, and depending on the result of this, we can perform HPV typing, which is done by taking a vaginal sample where the "type" of human papillomavirus (HPV) is identified. It is very important to identify and know "the type or number" as it is directly related to cervical cancer, and is transmitted through sexual contact. It is very important to prevent it by vaccination.

Ultrasound: To finish and complete the examination, we perform a high-resolution ultrasound to assess the uterus, ovaries, parametria, Douglas pouch, and we apply colour Doppler to assess the utero-ovarian vessels and evaluate the flows at that level. This ultrasound can be performed vaginally and/or abdominally.
Breast examination: The breast examination consists of an inspection and palpation of both breasts, armpits, nipples and the presence of secretions is ruled out.
If necessary, it is prescribed or recommended that the following be carried out mammographic study and/or breast ultrasound, depending on age and findings.
In the event of negative scans, and depending on age and history, mammograms and/or breast ultrasound scans are requested as a complementary examination for the detection of breast cancer.
Pregnancy controlPregnancy control should begin as soon as a woman suspects she is pregnant, and ends with delivery. Pregnancy checks are of various types: weight, blood pressure, blood and urine tests, and ultrasound checks.
